[265] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and is undefiled and not subject to defilement (asaṅkiliṭṭha-asaṅkilesika) is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is a root and is undefiled and not subject to defilement: three.
