[312] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and without thought-conception and discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition (paccaya) for a phenomenon that is a root and without thought-conception and discursive thought by way of object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya); is a condition by way of connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya); is a condition by way of decisive-support condition (upanissaya-paccaya).
