[797] In dependence on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu) and has a present object, a phenomenon that is a root and has a present object arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): three. In dependence on a phenomenon that is not a root and has a present object, a phenomenon that is not a root and has a present object arises by root condition: three. In dependence on a phenomenon that is a root and has a present object and a phenomenon that is not a root and has a present object, a phenomenon that is a root and has a present object arises by root condition: three.
