[98] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is a root (hetu), associated with painful feeling (dukkhāya vedanāya sampayutto), is a condition for a phenomenon that is a root, associated with painful feeling, by root condition (hetu-paccaya). A phenomenon that is a root, associated with painful feeling, is a condition for a phenomenon that is not a root (na-hetu), associated with painful feeling, by root condition. A phenomenon that is a root, associated with painful feeling, is a condition for a phenomenon that is a root, associated with painful feeling, and for a phenomenon that is not a root, associated with painful feeling, by root condition.
