[1094] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a fetter (saññojana) and is a root (hetu), a phenomenon that is not a fetter (no-saññojana) and is not a root (na-hetu) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is a knot (gantha) and is a root, a phenomenon that is not a knot (no-gantha) and is not a root arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is a flood (ogha) and is a root, a phenomenon that is not a flood (no-ogha) and is not a root arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is a yoke (yoga) and is a root, a phenomenon that is not a yoke (no-yoga) and is not a root arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is a hindrance (nīvaraṇa) and is a root, a phenomenon that is not a hindrance (no-nīvaraṇa) and is not a root arises by root condition. Dependent on a phenomenon that is not misapprehension (no-parāmāsa) and is a root, a phenomenon that is not not-misapprehension (na-no-parāmāsa) and is not a root arises by root condition.
