[1136] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is clinging (upādāna) and is a not-root (na-hetu), a not-root (na-hetu) phenomenon that is not clinging (no-upādāna) arises by root condition (hetupaccayā). Dependent on a phenomenon that is a defilement (kilesa) and is a root (hetu), a phenomenon that is not a defilement (no-kilesa) and is not a root (na-hetu) arises by root condition.
