[158] Then Visākhā Migāramātā, taking a face-wiping cloth (mukhapuñchanacoḷa), approached the Blessed One; having approached and having paid homage to the Blessed One, she sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, Visākhā Migāramātā said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, may the Blessed One accept my face-wiping cloth, that it may be for my welfare and happiness for a long time."
The Blessed One accepted the face-wiping cloth. Then the Blessed One instructed, roused, inspired, and gladdened Visākhā Migāramātā with a talk on the Dhamma. Then Visākhā Migāramātā, having been instructed, roused, inspired, and gladdened by the Blessed One with a talk on the Dhamma, rose from her seat, paid homage to the Blessed One, circumambulated him keeping her right side toward him, and departed.
Then the Blessed One, having given a talk on the Dhamma with reference to that occasion, with reference to that incident, addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I allow a face-wiping cloth."
