[44] Now at that time a certain bhikkhu had a sickness caused by something given to him [a noxious potion] (gharadinnakābādha). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow him to be given to drink a draught of water stirred with mud turned up by the plough (sītāloḷi)."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu had a disordered digestion (duṭṭhagahaṇika). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow him to be given to drink an alkaline solution of natural products (āmisakhāra)."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu had the sickness of jaundice (paṇḍurogābādha). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow him to be given to drink [a medicine of] myrobalan steeped in cattle-urine (muttaharīṭaka)."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu had a sickness of the skin (chavidosābādha). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow an anointing with scented ointment (gandhālepa) to be made."
Now at that time a certain bhikkhu's body was clogged with [excess] humors (abhisannakāya). They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow him to drink a purgative (virecana)." There was need of clear rice-gruel water. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow clear rice-gruel water (acchakañjika)." There was need of unprepared bean-broth. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow unprepared bean-broth (akaṭayūsa)." There was need of slightly thickened bean-broth. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow slightly thickened bean-broth (kaṭākaṭa)." There was need of meat-broth. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow meat-broth (paṭicchādanīya)."
