[166] Then the venerable Sudhamma, having gone to Macchikāsaṇḍa together with a bhikkhu as companion messenger (anudūta), asked forgiveness of the householder Citta. He conducted himself properly, was humbled (lomaṃ pāteti), and behaved so as to merit release; and having approached the bhikkhus, he spoke thus: "Friends, the act of reconciliation (paṭisāraṇīyakamma) has been carried out against me by the Saṅgha. I am conducting myself properly, I am humbled, I am behaving so as to merit release. How now should I proceed?"
Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One.
"Well then, bhikkhus, let the Saṅgha revoke the act of reconciliation for the bhikkhu Sudhamma."
