[493] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), commits in the interim several offences (āpatti) entailing initial and subsequent meetings of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa)—countless, some concealed and some unconcealed. That bhikkhu should be sent back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassitabbo), and a combined probation (samodhānaparivāsa) should be given to him for his offences, according to how long they were concealed, in combination with the former offence.
