[556] Two bhikkhus have committed a saṅghādisesa offense; they are in doubt about the saṅghādisesa. One conceals it, one does not conceal it. The one who conceals it should be made to confess an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). And, having given him probation (parivāsa) in accordance with the period concealed, penance (mānatta) should be given to both.
