[595] Now at that time a householder who was a giver of fine meals (kalyāṇabhattika) gave to the Saṅgha a meal for four bhikkhus as a regular meal-offering (niccabhatta). He, together with his wife and children, stood in attendance in the refectory and served the food. Some asked [the bhikkhus what they wished], offering boiled rice; others asked, offering curry; others asked, offering oil; others asked, offering additional delicacies (uttaribhaṅga).
