[610] And how, bhikkhus, is acting upon acknowledgment (paṭiññātakaraṇa) in accordance with the Dhamma?
A bhikkhu has committed a pārājika. The Saṅgha, or several bhikkhus, or a single individual accuses him: "The venerable one has committed a pārājika." He speaks thus: "Yes, friend, I have committed a pārājika." The Saṅgha deals with him for the pārājika. Acting upon acknowledgment in accordance with the Dhamma.
A bhikkhu has committed a saṅghādisesa … a thullaccaya … a pācittiya … a pāṭidesanīya … a dukkaṭa … a dubbhāsita. The Saṅgha, or several bhikkhus, or a single individual accuses him: "The venerable one has committed a dubbhāsita." He speaks thus: "Yes, friend, I have committed a dubbhāsita." The Saṅgha deals with him for the dubbhāsita. Acting upon acknowledgment in accordance with the Dhamma.
Thus indeed, bhikkhus, acting upon acknowledgment is in accordance with the Dhamma.
