Vinayapiṭaka · Cūḷavagga (1) · Vol. 6 · Section 664

[664] Dispute (vivāda) is a legal issue arising from dispute (vivādādhikaraṇa); dispute is not a legal issue; a legal issue is not a dispute; it is both a legal issue and a dispute. There may be dispute that is a legal issue arising from dispute; there may be dispute that is not a legal issue; there may be a legal issue that is not a dispute; there may be that which is both a legal issue and a dispute.
