[121] Then, when that night had passed, Prince Bodhi (Bodhi rājakumāra) had exquisite hard and soft foods prepared, and had the Kokanuda Palace spread with white cloths as far as the last step of the staircase (yāva pacchimā sopāṇakaḷevarā). Then he addressed the brahmin youth Sañjikāputta: "Come, my good Sañjikāputta, go to the Blessed One, and having approached, announce the time to the Blessed One thus: 'It is time, venerable sir; the meal is ready.'" "Yes, sir," the brahmin youth Sañjikāputta replied to Prince Bodhi, and he went to the Blessed One; having approached, he announced the time to the Blessed One: "It is time, venerable sir; the meal is ready."
