[127] Then the Blessed One, having given a talk on the Dhamma in that connection, on that occasion, addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I allow a water-pot and a broom. Bhikkhus, a carved foot-scrubber (kataka) is not to be used; whoever should use one commits an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). Bhikkhus, I allow three kinds of foot-rubbers: gravel (sakkharā), a potsherd (kaṭhala), and sea-foam (samuddapheṇaka)."
