[149] Now at that time the bhikkhus' hair was long. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "But, Bhikkhus, are the bhikkhus able to remove one another's hair?" "They are able, Blessed One." Then the Blessed One, on that occasion, in that connection, having had the Saṅgha of bhikkhus convened, … addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I allow a razor (khura), a whetstone for the razor (khurasilā), a razor-case (khurasipāṭikā), a piece of felt (namataka), and every razor accessory (khurabhaṇḍa)."
