[171] Now at that time the group-of-six bhikkhus (chabbaggiyā bhikkhū) wore their lower robes tucked up in the saṃvelliya fashion (as a wrapped loincloth). People complained, criticized, and spread it about: "… just like the king's porters (muṇḍavaṭṭī)!" … They informed the Blessed One of this matter. … "Bhikkhus, the lower robe is not to be worn tucked up in the saṃvelliya fashion. Whoever should so wear it commits an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa)."
