[196] Now at that time, when the Venerable Uruvelakassapa had gone forth, a great quantity of copper goods, wooden goods, and earthenware goods had accrued to the Saṅgha. Then it occurred to the bhikkhus: "What copper goods have been allowed by the Blessed One, and what have not been allowed? What wooden goods have been allowed, and what have not been allowed? What earthenware goods have been allowed, and what have not been allowed?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, on that occasion and in that connection, having given a talk on the Dhamma, addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I allow all copper goods, except a weapon; I allow all wooden goods, except a high couch (āsandī), a divan (pallaṅka), a wooden bowl, and wooden shoes; I allow all earthenware goods, except a foot-scrubber (kataka) and a hut made entirely of clay in the potter's fashion (kumbhakārikā)."
The Khuddakavatthu Khandhaka, the Fifth, is finished.
