[201] Then those bhikkhus approached the merchant (seṭṭhi) of Rājagaha; having approached, they said this to the merchant of Rājagaha: "Householder, dwellings (vihāra) have been allowed by the Blessed One. Now do what you consider it is time to do." Then the merchant of Rājagaha had sixty dwellings erected in a single day. Then the merchant of Rājagaha, having brought those sixty dwellings to completion, approached the Blessed One; having approached and paid homage to the Blessed One, he sat down to one side. Sitting to one side, the merchant of Rājagaha said this to the Blessed One: "Venerable sir, may the Blessed One, together with the Saṅgha of bhikkhus, consent to accept a meal from me tomorrow." The Blessed One consented by silence. Then the merchant of Rājagaha, having understood the Blessed One's consent, rose from his seat, paid homage to the Blessed One, circumambulated him keeping his right side toward him, and departed. Then the merchant of Rājagaha, when that night had passed, having had excellent hard and soft food prepared, had the time announced to the Blessed One: "It is time, venerable sir; the meal is ready."
