[213] Now at that time a square couch (āsandika) had come into being for the Saṅgha. They reported the matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a square couch."
A high square couch had come into being. They reported the matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow even a high square couch."
A chair with arms and a back (sattaṅga) had come into being. They reported the matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a chair with arms and a back."
