[221] Now at that time bhikkhus folded a bed-mattress (mañcabhisi) up onto a bench, and folded a bench-mattress up onto a bed. The mattresses came to pieces. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a bed with the mattress bound on (onaddhamañca) and a bench with the mattress bound on (onaddhapīṭha)."
They spread (the covering) without making a lining (ulloka); they pulled (the stuffing) out from below. … "Bhikkhus, I allow, having made a lining and spread it, to bind on the mattress."
They tore off the outer covering (chavi) and carried it away. … "Bhikkhus, I allow it to be sprinkled (with dye) (phosituṃ)."
They still carried it away. … "Bhikkhus, I allow patterned work (bhittikamma)."
