[240] Now at that time King Seniya Bimbisāra of Magadha wished to have a long house (pāsāda) built for the benefit of the Saṅgha, plastered with lime and clay. Then it occurred to the bhikkhus: "What roofing, indeed, has been allowed by the Blessed One?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow five kinds of roofing: roofing of tiles, roofing of stone, roofing of lime-plaster, roofing of grass, and roofing of leaves."
The first recitation section (bhāṇavāra) is concluded.
