[242] Now at that time the Saṅgha with the Buddha at its head had been invited by the merchant (seṭṭhi) of Rājagaha for the meal on the following day. Then the merchant of Rājagaha gave orders to his slaves and workmen: "Well then, my men, rise up early in the morning; cook rice-gruel (yāgu), cook boiled rice, prepare curries, and prepare choice delicacies (uttaribhaṅga)."
