Khuddakavatthukkhandhaka

Vinayapiṭaka · Cūḷavagga (2) · Vol. 7 · Section 27

[27] May I have loving-kindness (mettā) toward the Virūpakkhas; may I have loving-kindness toward the Erāpathas; may I have loving-kindness toward the Chabyāputtas; and loving-kindness toward the Kaṇhāgotamakas. May I have loving-kindness toward footless creatures; may I have loving-kindness toward two-footed creatures; may I have loving-kindness toward four-footed creatures; may I have loving-kindness toward many-footed creatures. May no footless creature harm me; may no two-footed creature harm me; may no four-footed creature harm me; may no many-footed creature harm me. May all beings, all breathing things, and all creatures without exception, all behold good fortune; may no evil whatsoever come to any. Measureless is the Buddha, measureless is the Dhamma, measureless is the Saṅgha; measured are creeping things—snakes, scorpions, centipedes, spiders, lizards, and mice. A protection has been made by me; a safeguard (paritta) has been made by me. Let the creatures withdraw. I pay homage to the Blessed One; homage to the seven Perfectly Enlightened Ones.
