[281] Now at that time bhikkhus, having taken a lodging (senāsana), reserved it exclusively for all time. They reported this matter to the Blessed One. … "Bhikkhus, a lodging, once taken, is not to be reserved exclusively for all time; whoever should so reserve it commits an offense of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa). Bhikkhus, I allow it to be reserved for the three months of the rains (vassa), but not to be reserved for the rest of the year."
