Vinayapiṭaka · Cūḷavagga (2) · Vol. 7 · Section 325

[325] Now at that time Rājagaha was afflicted with famine (dubbhikkha). People were not able to provide a meal for the Saṅgha (saṅghabhatta), but they wished to provide a designated meal (uddesabhatta), an invitation meal (nimantana), a ticket meal (salākabhatta), a fortnightly meal (pakkhika), an Uposatha-day meal (uposathika), and a meal on the day after the Uposatha (pāṭipadika). They informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhus, I allow a meal for the Saṅgha, a designated meal, an invitation meal, a ticket meal, a fortnightly meal, an Uposatha-day meal, and a meal on the day after the Uposatha."
