[380] Then the elephant Nāḷāgiri, taking up with his trunk the dust of the Blessed One's feet, sprinkled it over the top of his own head; then, crouching low, he moved backwards for as long as he could still see the Blessed One. Then the elephant Nāḷāgiri went to the elephant stable and stood in his own place. And thus, indeed, was the elephant Nāḷāgiri tamed.
