[421] Then it occurred to the bhikkhus: "By whom, indeed, should the blessing of appreciation (anumodanā) be given in the refectory (bhattagga)?" They reported this matter to the Blessed One. Then the Blessed One, on that account and in that connection, having given a talk on the Dhamma, addressed the bhikkhus: "Bhikkhus, I allow the blessing of appreciation to be given in the refectory by the elder (thera) bhikkhu."
