[482] What are the seven legitimate (dhammika) suspensions of the Pātimokkha (pātimokkhaṭṭhapana)? One suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a pārājika that has a basis (samūlika); one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a saṅghādisesa that has a basis; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a thullaccaya that has a basis; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a pācittiya that has a basis; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a pāṭidesanīya that has a basis; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a dukkaṭa that has a basis; one suspends the Pātimokkha on account of a dubbhāsita that has a basis. These are the seven legitimate suspensions of the Pātimokkha.
