[530] Now at that time the bhikkhunīs (bhikkhunī), in the midst of the Saṅgha, had become embroiled in contention, embroiled in quarrels, and fallen into dispute, dwelling stabbing one another with the daggers of their mouths, and they were not able to settle that legal issue (adhikaraṇa). … Those bhikkhus reported this matter to the Blessed One. "Bhikkhus, I allow a legal issue of bhikkhunīs to be settled by bhikkhus."
