[616] Then the elder bhikkhus went to Rājagaha to recite together (saṅgāyituṃ) the Dhamma and the Vinaya. Then it occurred to the elder bhikkhus: "Friends, the repair of what is broken and dilapidated (khaṇḍaphulla) was praised by the Blessed One. Come now, friends, let us repair what is broken and dilapidated during the first month; in the middle month, having assembled, we shall recite together the Dhamma and the Vinaya." Then the elder bhikkhus repaired what was broken and dilapidated during the first month.
