[72] Now at that time, along the road the water was not allowable (akappiya). There was no water-strainer (parissāvana). They informed the Blessed One of this matter. "Bhikkhus, I allow a water-strainer." The piece of cloth (coḷaka) was not sufficient. … "Bhikkhus, I allow a ladle-strainer (kaṭacchuparissāvana)." The piece of cloth was not sufficient.
