Of the four legal issues there are thirty-three roots and thirty-three origins.
Which are the thirty-three roots of the four legal issues? The legal issue arising from dispute (vivādādhikaraṇa) has twelve roots; the legal issue arising from accusation (anuvādādhikaraṇa) has fourteen roots; the legal issue arising from an offense (āpattādhikaraṇa) has six roots; the legal issue arising from business (kiccādhikaraṇa) has one root: the Saṅgha. These are the thirty-three roots of the four legal issues.
