One withdrawal of the kathina is dependent on the Saṅgha: the intervening withdrawal (antarubbhāra).
Four withdrawals of the kathina are dependent on an individual: that ending with departure (pakkamanantika), that ending with the completion [of the robe] (niṭṭhānantika), that ending with a resolution (sannitṭhānantika), and that ending with the passing beyond the boundary (sīmātikkantika).
Four withdrawals of the kathina are neither dependent on the Saṅgha nor dependent on an individual: that ending with loss [of the robe] (nāsanantika), that ending with hearing [the announcement] (savanantika), that ending with the cutting off of expectation (āsāvacchedika), and the withdrawal together [with the Saṅgha] (sahubbhāra).
