[1282] How many not destined for the plane of misery (apāya) were declared by the Buddha, Kinsman of the Sun (ādiccabandhu)? We would hear the range (visaya) of you who profess the Vinaya. Eighteen not destined for the plane of misery were declared by the Buddha, Kinsman of the Sun. Hear from me the range of one who professes the Vinaya.
