Vinayapiṭaka · Parivāra · Vol. 8 · Section 1281

[1281] [Question:] "How many destined for the states of loss (āpāyikā) were declared by the Buddha, Kinsman of the Sun (ādiccabandhu)? We would hear the domains (visayāni) of you who profess the Discipline (vinaya)." [Answer:] "A hundred and a half less six — one hundred and forty-four — were declared by the Buddha, Kinsman of the Sun, as destined for the states of loss, destined for hell (nerayikā), remaining there for the aeon (kappaṭṭhā): causers of schism in the Saṅgha (saṅghabhedakā). Hear from me the domains of one who professes the Discipline."
