[1340] There are four formal acts (kamma): the act of announcement (apalokanakamma), the act with a motion (ñattikamma), the act with a motion as the second (ñattidutiyakamma), and the act with a motion as the fourth (ñatticatutthakamma).
In how many ways do these four formal acts fail? These four formal acts fail in five ways: by reason of the object (vatthu), by reason of the motion (ñatti), by reason of the proclamation (anussāvana), by reason of the boundary (sīmā), or by reason of the assembly (parisā).
