[1351] How do formal acts (kamma) fail on account of the boundary (sīmā)? Formal acts fail on account of the boundary in eleven ways: one authorizes a boundary that is too small; one authorizes a boundary that is too large; one authorizes a boundary with a broken marker (nimitta); one authorizes a boundary with a shadow as its marker; one authorizes a boundary without a marker; standing outside the boundary, one authorizes a boundary; one authorizes a boundary in a river; one authorizes a boundary in the ocean; one authorizes a boundary in a natural lake; one overlaps a boundary with a boundary; one superimposes a boundary upon a boundary. In these eleven ways formal acts fail on account of the boundary.
