[275] Not having taken a piece the width of a sugata-span (sugatavidatthi) from around the border of the old rug (santhata), a bhikkhu causing a new sitting-rug (nisīdanasanthata) to be made incurs two offences: in the effort of having it made, he incurs an offence of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa); when it has been made, he incurs an offence entailing relinquishment with confession (nissaggiya pācittiya).
