[377] A bhikkhu having a bed (mañca) or a bench (pīṭha) made exceeding the proper measure incurs two offences (āpatti): while he is having it made, in the act of undertaking, an offence of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa); when it has been made, an offence of expiation (pācittiya).
