Saṅghādisessikkhābada

Vinayapiṭaka · Parivāra · Vol. 8 · Section 481

[481] "Where was the saṅghādisesa laid down whose condition is charging a bhikkhu with an offense entailing defeat (pārājika), taking some point of a legal issue (adhikaraṇa) belonging to another category as a mere pretext?" "It was laid down at Rājagaha." "Concerning whom?" "Concerning the Mettiya-Bhummajaka bhikkhus." "On account of what matter?" "On the matter that the Mettiya-Bhummajaka bhikkhus charged the Venerable Dabba Mallaputta with an offense entailing defeat, taking some point of a legal issue belonging to another category as a mere pretext — on that matter." There is one laying-down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offenses, it arises through three origins.
