[482] "For a bhikkhu who is a schismatic of the Saṅgha (saṅghabhedaka), on account of his not relinquishing [his course] when admonished up to the third time (yāvatatiyaṃ samanubhāsanā), where was the saṅghādisesa laid down?" — "It was laid down at Rājagaha." — "Concerning whom?" — "Concerning Devadatta." — "On what matter?" — "On the matter that Devadatta strove for the schism of the united Saṅgha."
There is one laying-down (paññatti). Of the six origins of offences (āpattisamuṭṭhāna), it arises through one origin: it arises from body, from speech, and from mind (citta).
