[493] On account of addressing a woman (mātugāma) with lewd words (duṭṭhullā vācā), a bhikkhu incurs three offences (āpatti): speaking praise or speaking dispraise with reference to the anal passage (vaccamagga) or the urinary passage (passāvamagga), he incurs an offence entailing a formal meeting of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa); speaking praise or speaking dispraise with reference to the region below the collarbone and above the circle of the knees, setting aside the anal passage and the urinary passage, he incurs a grave offence (thullaccaya); speaking praise or speaking dispraise with reference to what is connected with the body, he incurs an offence of wrongdoing (dukkaṭa).
