[971] There is an offense (āpatti) which the preceptor (upajjhāya) commits but the co-resident (saddhivihārika) does not commit; there is an offense which the co-resident commits but the preceptor does not commit; there is an offense which both the preceptor and the co-resident commit; there is an offense which neither the preceptor nor the co-resident commits. There is an offense which the teacher (ācariya) commits but the pupil (antevāsika) does not commit; there is an offense which the pupil commits but the teacher does not commit; there is an offense which both the teacher and the pupil commit; there is an offense which neither the teacher nor the pupil commits.
