[283] "Furthermore, Poṭṭhapāda, with the complete transcending of perceptions of form (rūpasaññā), with the passing away of perceptions of sensory resistance (paṭighasaññā), and with non-attention to perceptions of diversity (nānattasaññā), a bhikkhu, [aware that] 'space is infinite,' enters upon and dwells in the base of the infinity of space (ākāsānañcāyatana). The perception of form that he had previously ceases; at that time there is a subtle and true perception of the base of the infinity of space, and at that time he is one percipient of that subtle and true perception of the base of the infinity of space. Thus through training (sikkhā) one perception arises, and through training another perception ceases. This too is training," said the Blessed One.
