[303] "Poṭṭhapāda, I teach the Dhamma also for the abandoning of the gross acquisition of a self (attapaṭilābha), thus: 'Practicing in accordance with it, defiling states (saṃkilesikā dhammā) will be abandoned in you, cleansing states (vodāniyā dhammā) will grow, and you will enter upon and dwell in the fullness and abundance of wisdom, having realized it with your own direct knowledge (abhiññā) in this very life.'
"It may be, Poṭṭhapāda, that you think thus: 'Defiling states will be abandoned, cleansing states will grow, and one will enter upon and dwell in the fullness and abundance of wisdom, having realized it with one's own direct knowledge in this very life — but such a dwelling is suffering (dukkha).' But, Poṭṭhapāda, this should not be seen thus. Rather, defiling states will be abandoned, cleansing states will grow, and one will enter upon and dwell in the fullness and abundance of wisdom, having realized it with one's own direct knowledge in this very life — and there will be gladness (pāmojja), rapture, tranquility, mindfulness, and clear comprehension, and such a dwelling is blissful."
