[145] Now at that time two bhikkhus were companions. One entered the village for alms; the second, when solid food (khādanīya) belonging to the Saṅgha was being distributed, took his companion's share and, taking it on trust (vissāsa), consumed it. The first, having learned of this, reproached him: "You are not an ascetic!" He was remorseful … "What was your intention, bhikkhu?" "I took it on trust, Blessed One." "There is no offense, bhikkhu, for one who takes on trust."
