[202] "Making an arrangement (saṅketakamma)" means: he makes an arrangement — "before the meal or after the meal, by night or by day — by that arrangement, deprive him of life" — there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). If by that arrangement he deprives him of life, there is an offense of pārājika for both. If he deprives him of life before or after that arranged time, there is no offense for the original instigator (mūlaṭṭha); for the killer, there is an offense of pārājika.
"Making a sign (nimittakamma)" means: he makes a sign — "I shall wink an eye, or raise an eyebrow, or raise my head — at that sign, deprive him of life" — there is an offense of wrong-doing (dukkaṭa). If at that sign he deprives him of life, there is an offense of pārājika for both. If he deprives him of life before or after that sign, there is no offense for the original instigator; for the killer, there is an offense of pārājika.
