[270] In three ways … in seven ways: when, speaking a conscious lie, he says, "I attained, I attain, I have attained … the first jhāna, and the second jhāna, and the third jhāna, and the fourth jhāna,¹ and the emptiness deliverance (suññata vimokkha), and the signless deliverance (animitta vimokkha), and the undirected deliverance (appaṇihita vimokkha), and the emptiness concentration (samādhi), and the signless concentration, and the undirected concentration, and the emptiness attainment (samāpatti), and the signless attainment, and the undirected attainment, and the three true knowledges (vijjā), and the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna), and the four right strivings (sammappadhāna), and the four bases of spiritual power (iddhipāda), and the five faculties (indriya), and the five powers (bala), and the seven factors of awakening (bojjhaṅga), and the noble eightfold path (magga), and the fruit of stream-entry, and the fruit of once-returning, and the fruit of non-returning, and the fruit of arahantship … and lust (rāga) has been given up by me … and hatred has been given up by me … and delusion has been given up by me, vomited forth, released, abandoned, relinquished, uprooted, thoroughly uprooted; and my mind (citta) is rid of the hindrance of lust, and my mind is rid of the hindrance of hatred, and my mind is rid of the hindrance of delusion" — there is an offense of pārājika: before [speaking] he knows, "I shall speak falsehood"; while speaking he knows, "I am speaking falsehood"; having spoken he knows, "falsehood has been spoken by me"; misrepresenting his view, misrepresenting his belief, misrepresenting his approval, misrepresenting his state.
